Air Jordan 7 ‘Raptors’ | Release Date, Photos

Air Jordan 7 'Raptors' | Release Date, Photos  阅读原文»

Air Jordan 7 Raptors

Joining the pantheon that includes the Air Jordan 11 Bred, here’s another classic Air Jordan with an unfathomably awful nickname. It’s not just that the Raptors weren’t around when the shoe was made famous by MJ in the early-90′s, though that’s certainly part of it. But the mediocreness (word?) of the franchise, the dopeness (word) of the shoe and the fact that the two basically share one color (black doesn’t count; it’s the people’s color and no one can lay claim, and they no longer officially rep purple) simply doesn’t justify the ‘Raptors’ dubbing. But hit the jump for plenty more photos, and feel free to let us know if you’re feeling the shoe (or nickname). Via MarqueeSole.com

NTC Superuser Spotlight: Sydney McFarland

NTC Superuser Spotlight: Sydney McFarland  阅读原文»

When a member of our Nike Women community logs at least 3,000 minutes on the NTC app we call them an NTC Superuser. This has us wondering, "What do we deem someone who has more than tripled that amount?" Since downloading the app a little over a year ago, 22-year-old Sydney McFarland of Allen, Texas has practiced NTC drills almost daily and has logged nearly 10,000 minutes. Of course we are beyond impressed, so we caught up with this MEGA-User to learn about her workout routine and find out how she stays motivated. Here's what she had to say:

What's your current workout schedule with the app?
My current work out schedule is EVERY DAY. On days I don't have to be somewhere in the morning, I get up and do a quick 15-45 minute workout to get my day started. Then in the afternoon I always do a Get Strong with a Get Lean drill, or a Get Toned with a Get Lean. Sometimes I add in a Get Focused or bonus drill if I still have the energy.

What are your favorite NTC workouts?
I have so many. If I had to choose a favorite work out from each, my Get Lean pick would be "Up the Pace" or "Razor Sharp." Get Toned would be "Competitor" or any of the 30 minutes in "Beginner." Get Strong would be "Drill Sergeant" and "Challenger" or "Energy Transfer." My favorite bonus workouts are Laura Enever's and Hope Solo's.

What motivates you to workout with NTC?
Life. I used to never work out and ate whatever I wanted and I ended up paying for it. Finding a workout system that I truly enjoy doing has changed my life completely. NTC is not only effective, it's fun. I love how it's like having a personal trainer there with you pushing you to be your best. It's an awesome way of staying fit anywhere, any time, and I am so thankful to Nike for putting it together.

Tell us about a defining moment you had as a result of the NTC app.
When I first realized I was up to 10 lb. weights, after starting with only 5. Also being able to do a real push up and continuing to be able to do them. Realizing how much stronger my body had become was a moment I will never forget.

Who is your favorite Nike athlete?
It has to be Hope Solo because she is a beast. She doesn't let anyone get to her and she always trains her absolute hardest. I saw a tweet of hers the other day saying, "No, I'm not retiring! People are crazy!" and it made me laugh. Not only is she, herself, inspiring, but her tweets are as well. She's always talking about good things and I just love her for all that she accomplishes.

What's your favorite piece of Nike training apparel?
Almost everything I wear is Nike. My favorite thing right now is the Nike Racer Tank Top. Those babies are going to be what I wear every day this summer. I just bought five of them!

What's your favorite pre-workout snack?
A banana. I'm usually wanting some sort of snack before I work out and a banana is always the handiest and healthiest thing to get my hands on, plus I love them.

What's the best advice you've ever received, and what advice would you give others as a result of your NTC experience?
Marie Purvis has given me tons of advice as far as fitness and eating healthy goes. She even took the time to send me a clean eating daily menu, which was very helpful for me because eating is my biggest problem as far as fitness goes.

A lot of girls ask me about NTC and I praise it to them, but they don't stick with it. Then I remind them that they have to dedicate themselves and want it bad enough to get results. It's not just something you can do every now and then and see changes. I'm always trying to help my friends out and tell them to stay away from junk food, especially fast food, and to treat their bodies right because it's all we've got.

In one word, how would describe your overall NTC experience?
One word? EXTRAORDINARY! But there is so much more that can be said.

Jordan Son of Mars ‘Bordeaux’

Jordan Son of Mars Bordeaux

The Son of Mars is one of those hybrids that, justifiably or not (your choice, obviously), has caught a lot of flack. To counter that however, Jordan Brand came up with a pretty simple solution: release fantastic colorway after fantastic colorway and leave little doubt in the minds of skeptics. Here’s the latest, the Jordan Son of Mars Bordeaux, release date as yet unannounced. Unlike some shoes that in no way resemble a ‘Bordeaux’ colorway but get the nickname anyway, this one goes multi-tone grey and black over the upper with plenty of deep red contrast on the laces, toe and heel-tab, justifying the nickname while looking pretty darn dope. Hit the jump for plenty of shots and stay tuned for release info. Photos via MarqueeSole.com

Video: Nike Football Kits From Recycled Bottles  阅读原文»

Nike Better World Recycled Football Kits

We’ve been covering a ton of new Nike Football uniforms lately (association football that is, aka soccer), often reiterating the remarkable process that allows Nike to make the kits from recycled plastic bottles. And since I could just read the disbelief in your face each and every time, here’s a video documenting the process, which really is rather interesting. (See, I told you.)
