Nike Football continues its long line of impressive innovations in the Mercurial series, today unveiling the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX, a boot that ideally mixes lightweight-yet-stable construction, all-conditions traction and flat out speed.
The biggest addition on the latest Mercurial boot is the entirely retooled upper. Speed Control texture wraps the foot and adds friction along with a snug, responsive fit. The result is a locked-down foot that prevents movement inside the boot, superlative field- and ball-touch, and top-notch comfort.
Also new to the Mercurial franchise is the boot’s All Conditions Control (ACC) technology, a treatment that ensures the aforementioned maximal touch is not diminished in any weather.
Further, the Mercurial Vapor IX’s traction is again a hallmark of the boot’s performance qualities. Responsive blades in the cleat plate deliver safe, secure change-of-direction even at top speeds, while twin rear studs and an asymmetric configuration ensure a quick release and unparalleled explosiveness.
The Nike Mercurial Vapor IX is available for pre-order beginning January 18th, with the boot launching worldwide on January 31st.
