Following up the recently-debuted Nike Basketball All-Star collection inspired by space travel and the extraterrestrial, today we get a detailed look at the Nike Sportswear branch of the series, the Nike Area 72 collection.
Inspired by the fictional Nike Space Program, each shoe is designed with an eye toward alien aesthetics and top secret Area 51-style ideas. Each of the special edition shoes — Nike Blazer Mid, Nike Vandal, Nike Lunar Force 1, Nike Barkley Posite Max, Nike Air Force Max 2013 — is “infused with galactic textures, reflectivity and glow-in-the-dark highlights. Along with those elements, a new “galaxy” print adorns the inner-lining of each shoe, tying them together thematically.
Look for the Nike Area 72 collection release date on February 14th. Immediate sell-outs are incredibly likely.
