Introducing the Fragment x Cole Haan LunarGrand collection, release date slated for July 13th. Featuring the premium craftsmanship and materials for which Cole Haan is known, the cutting edge style of Fragment Design, and of course the iconic look of the LunarGrand, this new set redefines the dress shoe.
The two black pairs — a Fragment x Cole Haan LunarGrand Chukka and Wingtip — opt for a clean Scotch grain leather with pebble grain texture, adding some minor aesthetic updates to a more traditional style.
The two lighter LunarGrand Wingtips break from the norm a bit more, with putty-colored leather, contrasting Lunarlon midsole and even black leather overlay on the pink-soled pair. (A pair which, unfortunately, will only be available at Cole Haan SoHo)
Retail is set at $328 for the Fragment x Cole Haan LunarGrand Chukka; $298 for the wingtips. All shoes launch at Cole Haan SoHo on July 13th, followed by a global launch at select retailers soon after.
Following the Dunk NG and TW 13, Nike Golf continues to evolve the game’s footwear at a rapid pace with the new Nike Lunar Swingtip, release date scheduled for July 1st. Inspired by the wide variety of Nike surfers and skateboarders who also enjoy hitting the links, the shoe sports a low-profile cupsole design typically preferred by participants of action sports, though the innovation doesn't end there.
The unique traction pattern on the outsole took shape from a pressure mapping study conducted by Nike’s Sports Research Lab, directly dictating the size, shape and layout of studs to ensure truly “on demand” traction.
Meanwhile the combination of the lugs and the sole’s rubber rim engage with the ground and lock-in as weight shifts, ensuring a stabilized swing and perfect balance.
Finally, a full-length Lunarlon sockliner gives the wearer superlative comfort and cushioning, while still allowing excellent ground feel.
And then there’s the style. While the Nike Lunar Swingtip is anything but traditional, the looks still adhere to the ‘uniform’ of golf, with the shoes — which will come in leather, suede and canvas in a number of different colors — featuring a streamlined wingtip aesthetic.
Look for the leather and suede editions to hit stores July 1st, retailing for $150 and $140, respectively, with the canvas version launching January 1st, 2013 ($130).
